Dr Hasan is an experienced paediatric and adult ENT surgeon who loves all aspects of ENT care with additional interests in Otology and Head & Neck surgery. A medical graduate of University of New South Wales (UNSW), Zubair was accepted to two competitive surgical pathways, starting with General Surgery before focusing on Otolaryngology.
After completing his surgical training, Zubair obtained further post-training tertiary fellowship experience through Westmead Hospital in Sydney and the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. Additionally, he was the recipient of the 2022 Hugh Johnston Travel Fellowship, allowing him to observe practice at the Otology departments in Duke University Hospitals in Durham, North Carolina, and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston, Massachusetts as the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons/American College of Surgeons exchange fellow.
Zubair also holds two higher degrees - a Master of Surgery and a Master of International Public Health (MIPH). He has contributed to the medical literature, authoring three book chapters and over 35 peer-reviewed articles and presented his work at numerous national and international conferences.
Zubair has developed further experience working as a consultant ENT surgeon in a number of large adult and paediatric teaching hospitals including the Royal Children’s Hospital, Monash Health, Eastern Health and Alfred Health in Melbourne and the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle. Having lived and worked across various cities and regions in Australia, Zubair can relate to patients from diverse backgrounds, enhancing his ability to provide high-quality patient-centered care.
After a long time away from Sydney, Zubair has returned to be with his family. He has operating privileges at Norwest Private Hospital and Westmead Private Hospital.
Outside work he loves being in the water, enjoys photography (especially wildlife), and spending free time with his son and wife.
